If we were to describe this real wedding in one word it would have to be: "pretty." It's just so pretty. With soft whites, aquas and pinks as the color palette, and the bride in the perfect lace and tulle gown from Watters, this wedding at Northwest Ohio's The Stables is as romantic and whimsical as the location itself. We love all of the small details and personal touches in the decor, and the day was captured beautifully by Studio Elle Photography.

As far as planning the wedding was concerned, I fell in love with The Stables the first time we visited and knew I wanted to have our Big Day there. The empty space really lent itself to a lot of creativity, so my planners/decorators (2 family friends) and I took that and ran with it! I knew I wanted a sort of romantic, whimsical look, and the colors for me were the easiest part...shades of aqua/turquoise are my favorite, and it was so fun giving my girls essentially free rein to choose their own dresses. Also, I felt the pink/coral/orange/salmon flowers were a perfect complement, especially for a spring/summer wedding.
With respect to our ceremony, we wanted it to be very personal. We hoped to share our wholehearted love and commitment to one another, in the most genuine way possible, with all of our friends and family! After six pre-marriage counseling sessions with our officiant and his wife, he crafted the most beautiful ceremony, that was truly a perfect reflection of us as individuals and of our blossoming relationship together. David's dad wrote an incredibly heartfelt speech of parental encouragement and praise that was also shared during the ceremony. As our unity event, we planted a houseplant and included soil from the gardens of both sets of parents, symbolizing the coming together of two families. And perhaps the most special part was finally being able to share our vows that we had both personally crafted, separate from one another. Hands down, the ceremony was our favorite part of the day!
