This gorgeous New Year's Eve wedding at the Hyatt Regency at the The Arcade almost has us longing for winter again... Well, almost! Chock-full of DIY elements, the very talented and ambitious bride perfectly captured the excitement and elegance of both the holiday and the venue.
From the bride, Theresa:
My biggest inspiration was planning around NYE. I had originally wanted to get married in the summer, but when we realized a summer wedding wasn't feasible with regards to our work schedules, we settled on a winter wedding. I imagined a festive wedding on NYE. I wanted to it be somewhat fancy since the Arcade is so gorgeous and has an upscale feel. I chose my dress and my bridesmaid dresses with that in mind.
The men either bought or provided their own tuxedos. We were not strict about them matching perfectly, and we provided all of them white tuxedo shirts (Macy's), studs, cuff links, and bow ties as their groomsmen gifts. My bridesmaids wore Calvin Klein dresses. My mom and I sewed the robes they wore to get ready from silk fabric I bought in NYC as their gifts. I also provided all of the fur stoles that the women wore -- I scoured eBay leading up to the wedding.
