We love when we have the opportunity to share a real wedding at the Hyatt Arcade in downtown Cleveland! It's such an architectural gem and beautiful backdrop for weddings. For their wedding, Sarah and Marcus played up the rich historic details of The Arcade with a classic black and white color palette and a gown inspired by the hotel itself.
From the bride, Sarah:
I had such a fun time planning and everything really seemed to come together seamlessly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at the Cleveland Hyatt Arcade, they are truly a group of professionals who made the whole day go off without a hitch and because of them, I was able to feel relaxed and truly enjoy my day. As soon as I had selected the venue, I drew inspiration from its architecture and design in terms of the planning of the rest of the wedding. The details within the Arcade are so intricate and striking that I didn’t want to add much to it other than my own personal flares. I am definitely drawn to black and white colors and love a bold black and white stripe in fashion and decorating so it seemed only natural to reflect this within my wedding decor. We kept it mostly neutral with simple tablecloths and striped table runners and then had a pop of color within the floral arrangements. My bridesmaids selected their own long, black gowns of their liking to reflect their style and the groomsmen each wore a light grey suit. I ended up choosing my gown after I picked the venue to connect some of the vintage details and also included a vintage beaded purse from my mom that was gifted to her on her 16th birthday, which I incorporated as my something borrowed, as well as a strand of pearls that I wore as a bracelet that my grandmother added an inch to every birthday from birth until I was 16 as my something old.
Throughout the day, I was feeling most nervous about the ceremony and the long walk down the aisle with all eyes on me, but it ended up being my absolute favorite part of the day! My uncle officiated the ceremony and it ended up being so personal, with the perfect balance of funny and sentimental moments. We also did a first look earlier in the day at the spot where my husband and I met and later got engaged, which made the whole day feel so much more relaxed and really took the pressure off since we were able to have that special moment to ourselves already…definitely something I would recommend to other brides!
