We are so excited about the crop of new hotels opening in downtown Cleveland, because not only are there lots of new places to stay... but lots of new places to host a wedding! One of the newest is the Drury Plaza Hotel. Formerly the Board of Education Building, it has recently undergone complete restoration and preservation and retains its original 1931 charm, including original windows, woodwork and gorgeous marble floors. It's now a beautiful hotel with an elegant ballroom and an enviable location within walking distance of The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, sports stadiums, and innumerable restaurant and entertainment options -- always a plus for out-of-town wedding guests!
To complement the hotel's classic architecture, we would plan an elegant wedding wearing Steven Birnbaum's gown, "Jo," a classic ballgown with the sweetest vintage-inspired detailing. The skirt is covered in a light layer of fine netting and the deep V back is accented by a small bow. The Drury's ballroom is decorated in shades of taupe with pretty blue murals on the wall, so we would play up those murals with a blue, white and gold color palette and sweet, classic styling just like the gown.
