At Something White, we have brides who come from all over the midwest (and beyond!) to find their perfect gown, and while we love to showcase the amazing vendors that we have right here in Northeast Ohio, we also just really love to be able to show off some of our beautiful, not-so-local brides, as well. We were so happy that Jackie visited us from Metro Detroit and found "the dress," the beautiful "Edlin" by Watters. Jackie and Jacob's nature-inspired lakeside wedding in Hartland, Michigan, strikes the perfect balance between rustic and elegant, and the whole thing is just gorgeous.
From the bride, Jackie:
Our wedding was inspired by natural elements. We love the simplicity and rustic feel of wood and eucalyptus and were happy to channel that for our wedding day. The groomsmen wore dark navy blue tuxedos paired with brown shoes. The bridesmaids picked their own neutral/blush-tone dresses paired with gold accessories. I was in love with all of the different textures in the dresses and this was also something I treasured in my own gown. I fell in love with my unique wedding dress by Watters the second I saw it at Something White!
It’s hard to pick one favorite moment from our wedding day, but one of my favorites was our first look. My husband and I had mixed feelings about seeing one another before the ceremony, but I’m so happy we did! You might not be able to tell, but our wedding day was hot, humid, and rainy. We had planned on an outdoor ceremony and it wasn’t looking like it was going to happen pretty much all morning or afternoon. Looking back now, it wouldn’t have mattered if the ceremony was moved inside -- but on that day, I was not going to move the ceremony without a fight. When the skies cleared 30 minutes before the wedding, we knew our window for pictures might quickly go away. We raced to get as many photos as possible, and went for the first look. I loved the moment our photographer, Sean Cook, captured during our first look. I like to think the caption goes something like “Holy cow, we are doing this, and we somehow beat the rain!” We were very lucky that it didn’t rain again the rest of the day and we had a beautiful wedding outside by the lake.
